We recently had our Rep from Repair Care in the shop talking us through their products and for practical training. Repair Care offer specialist solutions for timber restoration and maintenance. If it sounds familiar, it might be because London’s Big Ben used Repair Care products and expertise for its renovation project. Namely using their DRY SEAL MP, which was selected for its ease of use and moisture resistance. Helping conserve and safeguard the landmark clock tower for future visitors.

We stock a range of Repair Care products, including the popular Dry Flex which we trialed on our training session. Repair Care highlight a 7-step system to ensure a lasting final product.
Our training session included a breakdown of Dry Flex components A and B, specifically designed in different size tubes to ensure the correct amount of each is used. Once the two components are bonded together, work must begin quickly before the product begins to harden. We got to trial shaping the DRY FLEX using the butter knife and modelling knives to apply the product into the timber needing ‘repair’.
Below are some pictures captured from our session, Connor is using the 3cm application knife to apply the Dry Flex generously into the timber and then using the larger application knife to shape it into the piece (keeping half of the application knife on the solid surface and rotating to keep a consistent flush repair).
